Bring your child to hear inspiring bestselling author Angie Thomas this Thursday!

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you and your child!

Mississippi's own #1 New York Times bestselling novelist Angie Thomas will talk straight to your child's heart about his or her writing skills--and future!

"I can't wait to speak with these youth who love writing and perhaps haven't had the encouragement they need and deserve," says Angie. "I hope my story will inspire them to go for it! I hope parents and grandparents will join us."

The event will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. this Thursday at the Madison Library, located at 994 Madison Avenue in Madison. The event is free.

Does your child love to write? If so, then Thursday night's event is especially for him or her.

Angie, whose #1 bestseller The Hate U Give is also being made into a movie by Fox2000, will share her story of growing up as a young writer in Jackson. She'll encourage your child to dream big and to write NOW and OFTEN with all of his or her heart.

Angie is on the board of Mississippi Matters's sister organization, The Well Writers Guild, which mentors young talented "select" writers just as their talented peers are coached in select sports and in music or dance lessons.

Angela will introduce The Well Writers Guild. You and your child can learn about opportunities to join an upcoming "Weller" group. Current "Weller" youth will help answer questions. No obligations.

I am the primary mentor for Well Writers Guild groups, which we call "Wellers." Our vision is to identify local youth writers who often go unnoticed, draw out their potential, and give them long-term direction.

Years ago, I was fortunate to have had Angie in one of my writing classes at Belhaven University. View my writing and teaching experience at The Well Writers Guild.
